Norwegian House

The Norwegian House is the oldest two-story house in Iceland. Built out of Norwegian wood, from which the name comes from. The house was built in 1832 by Árni Thorlacius, a local merchant and fishing entrepreneur. Árni is probably most known for his interest in weather, which he measured in detail for 50 years, and was the first one in Iceland to do so.
