The Icelandic Horse has remained isolated and purebred since Iceland‘s settlement. There are tales of breeding in old times but for a long period the horse was mostly shaped by natural selection.
The breeding horses introduced at this exhibition have all had a serious impact on Icelandic horse breeding and contributed to the progress and positive development of the breed in recent decades.
